Collect-Sort-Send

The scope of our efforts is great, but the process is really quite simple. With the help of hundreds of volunteers, we are able to send at least one large shipping container of medical supplies per year. Here’s what we do:

1. Collect:

  • Reduce waste: Find hospitals looking to donate usable supplies. Many do, but too often good supplies get trashed.
  • Most of the supplies we receive are usable, and much of the equipment is fully functional. Also, we fix up whatever we can.
  • Without programs like COA, the supplies would likely be discarded, incinerated, or stored indefinitely.

2. Sort:

  • Unite the Community: Bring people from different communities together for a righteous, unifying cause.
  • Sorting is fun and easy, and a great way to make friends! Anyone can sort, even on your first time. And we’ll be there to help, so don’t worry! Register as a volunteer to receive updates about sorting events.
  • We organize and catalog all the supplies to help the receiving doctors get the supplies into use as soon as possible.

3. Send:

  • Save a life: by providing basic medical supplies to doctors in regions with limited access to proper health care.
  • Many times the doctors are well-educated and simply lack the resources to perform basic medical procedures.
  • Our goal is to send at least one 40′ shipping container of medical supplies and equipment to a country in need per year.
