Obama Addresses Muslim World

Amidst war and recession, President Obama has not forgotten the importance of interfaith tolerance and understanding. He recently gave a speech from Cairo, Egypt in which he laid out his plans to improve US relations with the Muslim world.

“The enduring faith of over a billion people is so much bigger than the narrow hatred of a few. Islam is not part of the problem in combatting violent extremism. It is an important part of promoting peace.”

“I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.”

“If we choose to be bound by the past, we will never move forward. And I want to particularly say this to young people of every faith in every country. You more than anyone have the ability to reimagine this world … to remake this world.”
